More about this calculation
Use paid weeks, not just weeks at work
Your contract may add paid holiday to the weeks you attend work. Enter the employer’s paid-weeks figure, including that holiday. The example input is illustrative and does not calculate a statutory holiday entitlement.
How the gross salary is calculated
Full-time salary × contracted hours ÷ full-time hours × paid weeks ÷ the employer’s full-year divisor. We then calculate estimated deductions on that annual pay and spread the result across 12 months.
Check what the advertised salary means
If an advert already gives the actual annual salary, you do not need to reduce it again. Ask payroll about its annual divisor, paid-weeks figure and monthly payment schedule before relying on the estimate.
